1 Kings 18:1-19 - Be an Obadiah - Jesmond Parish - Sermon
21 July '24 Ian Garrett - ‘What can we do as a church? As Christians?’ Do you ever ask yourself that as you look at the agendas and ideologies running in education, in your workplace, in the church, and in the culture more widely? It’s easy to feel powerless and even despairing. Ian Garrett explores how Obadiah – a lesser known servant of the Lord – must have felt in the days of king Ahab: ‘I’m no Elijah – so what can I do?’ But the Bible holds him up to us as an example of doing what he could: using his position to resist the anti-God agendas that were running; and overcoming his fears to serve the Lord.
