The Bible Project: Daniel Overview

The book of Daniel is set after Babylon's first attack on Jerusalem and the first wave of Israelites had been taken into exile. Among them were 4 men from the royal family of David: Daniel and his 3 friends who were renamed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. The book tells of their struggles to maintain hope in the land of their conquerors. Central to the narrative is Daniel's ability to interpret dreams, particularly the incredible one in Chapter 7 of the throne-room of God and of the son of man who is given all authority and power over the nations.
