1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 - Always With The Lord - Jesmond Parish - Sermon
14 Nov' David Holloway - On this Remembrance Sunday, it's important that we speak about the reality of death. Aristotle famously said: 'Now death is the most terrible of all things; for it is the end.' But as Christians, we know that death isn't truly the end. In this passage from 1 Thessalonians, the church thought their loved ones who had died before Christ's return would be shut out of the His Kingdom, and they grieved for their unbelieving neighbours for whom death held no hope of heaven. Paul is eager to reassure them that this is not the case; that death is the beginning of a new life in Heaven.
