Most likely the earliest recorded letter from the Apostle Paul, he wrote it to the church in Thessalonica where he was able to spend only a short while due to opposition, eventually having to flee (Acts 17). This letter is Paul's attempt to reconnect with the believers there after receiving a report that they were flourishing despite intense persecution. In writing to them Paul celebrates their faithfulness to the Lord Jesus and he challenges them to keep growing as followers of him as they await the Day of the Lord.
