The Bible Project: Acts 13-28 Overview
The book of Acts is Vol. 2 of a two-part unified work which combines with Luke's Gospel, both written by Luke, a coworker of the Apostle Paul. The book records the early days of the church after Jesus' ascension and how, still today, he leads his people by the Spirit to go out into the world and invite all nations to live under his reign. Chapters 13-28 record the missionary journeys of the Apostles Paul and Barnabas, taking the news about Jesus around the Roman empire. Along the way Luke records how Gentiles were accepted as member's of God's family without needing to adopt a Jewish identity, and also how some saw the Christian church as a threat to the Roman way of life. The book dramatically concludes with Paul under house arrest in Rome, but able to teach about Jesus, unhindered, right under Caesar's nose.
