The Bible Project: Habakkuk Overview
Habakkuk lived during the final decades of the southern kingdom of Judah at a time when violence and injustice were rampant, the Torah was being rejected and the nation was being governed by corrupt leaders. Habakkuk sees the invasion of Babylon on the horizon and so addresses God with his struggle to believe and trust that God is good even when there is so much evil all around. And God responds.
