The Bible Project: Jonah Overview

Well-known in the Old Testament, the book of Jonah is unique among the prophetic books. Instead of being filled with words from God through a prophet it is a satirical story about a prophet. Jonah appears one other time in the Old Testament (2 Kings 14) where he wrongly prophesies to King Jeroboam II that God's favour is with him. In this book we see his encounters with pagan sailors and an evil nation and watch as they turn to the Lord whereas Jonah keeps turning away.
